About Mokshajyoti
Mokshajyoti is a vocalist, composer, sacred sound weaver, and cultural artist with ancestral Indian and Bengali roots. Raised in a Bengali household where devotional music, mantra, and collective singing were woven into everyday life, she was trained in Hindustani classical music before her artistic voiceevolved through improvisation, contemplative practice, and an enduring relationship with the natural world. Today, she creates contemporary music that honors ancestral wisdom while
speaking to the shared human experience.
For Mokshajyoti, the voice is our oldest inheritance. Before language, before identity, before borders, it carried our prayers, grief, celebration, and remembrance. Her compositions emerge less as songs to be written than as moments to be received—blending voice, mantra, silence, elemental rhythms, and intuitive expression into music that is at once meditative, primal, and deeply human.
Inspired by rivers, forests, birdsong, the rhythms of the Earth, and the mysteries of devotion, her
music unfolds as both remembrance and offering. It moves between stillness and ecstasy,
solitude and collective song, awakening an ancient conversation with the Earth, the Divine, our
ancestors, one another, and ultimately guiding us back home to ourselves.
Whether experienced through intimate recordings or shared in community, Mokshajyoti's music
invites deep listening—not only with the ears, but with the body, the heart, and the timeless
voice that lives within us all.
